Why Adulthood Feels Tiring—and Still Worth It
Most of us, at some point, feel like we hate life because of the overwhelming responsibilities placed on our shoulders. We often feel unprepared to handle all these obligations. But whether we like it or not, sometimes we have no choice but to carry them all.
Why is being an adult in today’s world so exhausting and frustrating?
Let’s be honest. Many of us—especially the adults—aren’t fully enjoying this stage of life. There’s so much pressure from family, friends, and society. Sometimes, we forget to take care of ourselves because we’re too busy providing for others—not just financially, but emotionally and mentally, all while trying to prove our worth. Somewhere along the way, we stop taking care of our own needs.
Yes, some adults are lucky enough to enjoy life more freely. They can travel, stay up late watching movies, and not worry too much about what the next day will bring.
But the truth is, this world presents different realities for each of us. Adulthood has both its positive and negative sides. Still, taking this phase of life seriously can help us build a more fulfilling and contented life. If you approach it with a positive mindset, you might begin to realize that, despite all the challenges, this could be the life you’ve always dreamed of.
All the problems you face now will eventually make you stronger. Not everyone will be there to guide or support you. Yes, some people are fortunate to have the money and resources to get what they need—but as I’ve said, not all of us are living that kind of life. That’s why, during this adulting stage, we must be resilient in overcoming the obstacles we face.
Still, don’t forget to enjoy life, because time doesn’t rewind. Life can suck sometimes, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth living. We are all going through the same phases, just in different ways. In the end, it’s up to us how we live it so that when we look back, we feel satisfied, content, and free of regret.
