Yes, it’s normal. Why? Simply because you’re human.
Not every day is a happy day. Some days, we feel lonely, lost, or like we’re quietly falling apart inside.
We’ve grown up in a society that often sees crying or feeling sad as a sign of weakness. So we hide these emotions, afraid of what others might think. We let the world around us dictate what we should feel and how we should act. I know that feeling when you close your eyes and tears just fall. You want to share your thoughts with someone, but you can’t find the words. You can’t even explain what’s going on in your head. Why? Because you don’t understand it yourself.
You’re just sad. Just empty. And the pressures of the present moment make everything feel even heavier.
But let me remind you again—it’s normal.
So how do we move through these moments?
First, allow yourself to feel. Embrace the sadness. Cry if you need to. It’s okay. It’s not always easy to open up especially when you don’t know where or how to begin. That’s why, sometimes, it's okay to fight your battles alone.
But if it becomes too heavy, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Talk to your family. Reach out to a friend. Nothing compares to having someone who will simply sit with you and listen without judgment.
Second, find something that can take your mind off the pain. Watch a movie. Listen to music. Eat your favorite food. Do something small that brings you even a little comfort. These things won’t erase your pain, but they can help you breathe.
And most importantly, remember that God is always there. Waiting for you. Listening to you even when you haven’t said a word. Sometimes, in our hardest moments, we forget to call His name. But He never forgets us. He understands us fully when no one else does.
Talk to Him. Cry to Him. Pray. He listens, always.
